Chanel on Bond

So, on my day off last week I paid the new Chanel Boutique on Bond Street a visit.
It opened recently and even though I work around the corner I still haven't checked it out.
I'm a massive fan of the latest collection in store at the moment - Metiers d'Art.

As a half Scot it is very exciting to see a collection inspired by and resourced in my local area.
My parents have lived in the the Scottish Borders for roughly 13 years now and more recently my dad has been helping maintain the grounds of the estate which is owned by Stella Tenants family (who is the Scottish model who opened the show for this collection)
As far as I'm aware, Stella even tried to convince Karl Lagerfeld to host the show at her families home - The Glen.
Sadly it lost out to Linlithgow Palace instead!

Anyway, going back to the boutique...when you first walk in you can't help but notice the giant pearls which create a sculpture from the ground floor up to the ceiling of the top floor.
This creation was designed by an Artist called Jean Michel Otheroniel and there is an article on him and his work in the latest Luxure Magazine - easy reading with a G&T at Aqua!

My eyes, unsurprisingly, were far more distracted by a tweed Boy bag which I will be crushing on for a while now!

Rainy Days

Today there were so many things I was meant to do with my day but instead I've decided to ignore everything and get into bed and read my new book.
I just downloaded Nancy Jo Sales 'The Bling Ring: How a Gang of Fame-Obsessed Teens Riped off Hollywood and Shocked the World'.
I've been so excited about the upcoming Sofia Coppola film that was inspired by this book that I decided to read it before seeing it - something I never do!
So far so good!

Clapham To Mayfair

As we have had such a beautiful weekend of weather I decided I would stretch my legs and walk to being in Mayfair and my flat being in Clapham it was hardly a little stroll!
Roughly 4.8 miles in an hour and a half and I arrived perfectly on time for work!
Without question the best way to see London and discover new places.
Lets hope for more nice weather as I'm currently trying to ignore the rain outside my window and the odd rumbles of thunder...:/

Hermes at the Saatchi Gallery

As a massive fan of the luxury brand Hermes, I got rather excited when I heard that they were doing a week long exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea.
The exhibit - which will be traveling all over the world - is to display the craftsmanship which is used to create these beautiful and bespoke pieces.
It was fascinating to hear and be able to question the skilled workers who are employed by Hermes to carry out the traditions continued by the brand.
One of the ladies jobs was to pick at silk to turn it into velvet - definitely a technique I have never heard of before!
Another lady who was sewing ties told us that every single one is hand sewn...yes, I did just say EVERY single one. Crazy!

I hope some of you make it down to visit and come away as educated and inspired as I was!

Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers (The Magician Remix)

There is one club in London that everyone needs to experience and that's 'The Box'.
It is like no other place I've been to before...
Entry is strictly connections only...if you don't know how to get in, you won't get in.
Once you're inside you can't be surprised at what and who you will bump into...anything goes.
Set in, what I can only presume is an old theatre, there is a stage at the front of the room and the main bar is at the back with tables in between.
When the clock strikes 1am the show begins...and when I say show, I mean show!
I won't spoil it anymore than that for you but it gets you intrigued right?!
Anyway, I'm writing this post alongside the song 'I Follow Rivers by Lykke Li' as it reminds me of being there!

Joe & the Juice

If I could have any professional then I've always said I would love to visit and write about the new and best places to eat/drink/sleep/party at.

London is an amazing place to do this and I'm constantly finding and being introduced to new discoveries.

My latest to date has been 'Joe & the Juice'.
You can find it on The Kings Road in Chelsea as well as at the top end of Regents Street.
I can proudly say I have visited them both in the space of 48 hours - it is that addictive!
As you can tell by the name it is obviously a juice bar and I'm gradually making my way through the list they offer!
Not only that, they also make the best sandwich's...'Joe's Club' - true perfection.

Check it out ya'll!

p.s. I'm not sure if it's a job requirement to work there, but all the guys are cute - also an incentive to check it out ;)
